ATHLETE-CENTERED MODEL

The Athlete-Centered Model, sometimes know as a Human-Centered Model, is an organizational theory that has been growing in popularity, specifically in sport clubs, for the past ten years. Sport organizations all across Europe, Australia, and some American organizations have adopted the model and have seen success. The ACM focuses on providing all athletic performance related services in house. Often times an athlete may see a number of specialists in hopes of enhancing their performance. While these professionals may be great in their own respective field, communication between each other is often poor. This poor communication can lead to an injury by way of improper programming (overuse, under-training, chronic injuries, etc.)

The Athlete-Centered model is designed to fix those issues. The model emphasizes consistent communication between professionals, and dependable communication to the athlete, parent, and coaches. CAMP is the only organization in the country currently building and utilizing this model in youth sport organizations.
