“In the time that I have spent at CAMP I set the *.* record at *.* High School, started (football) on both sides of the ball and never once felt overwhelmed, in fact putting up all-region numbers. But the real miracle is what it has done for me in the world of baseball. My 60 yard dash time now hovers around the 7.0 range a number I never thought my 200 pound frame able to achieve. I have a bat speed of around 100 MPH, and have been contacted in some way, shape or form by every baseball sanctioned school in the state. “After 13 years of sitting at a desk, very little exercise and a poor diet, I was completely out of shape. I was nearing 40, my blood pressure was skyrocketing and I suffered from severe acid reflux. As a result, I was on two daily prescription medications. Worse, I got winded walking up a couple flights of stairs and had to be guilted into getting off the couch to play catch with my kids. Around this time, my oldest son started playing football and we took him to CAMP to improve his speed, strength and agility. Then, my wife started going to CAMP and the peer pressure started building. At long last, I agreed to give CAMP a try. My first visit was eye opening. I knew I was out of shape, but when they put me on a treadmill and I could barely go for 5 minutes, it became clear just how out of shape I was. Not really knowing what I was getting into, I started going to CAMP twice a week. Early on, there were plenty of times when I wanted to quit. Frankly, going made me sore and I was a little embarrassed at how out of shape I was. But, I loved how I felt when I was done and the CAMP trainers were patient, recognizing my limitations, made me feel good, challenged me to improve and pushed me to reach my goals. Now 18 months later and on the verge of my 40th birthday, I have lost over 50 pounds, have completed two half marathons and will be running my first full marathon in June. Better yet, I run and play with my kids, bound up and down the stairs in our house and have stopped talking all prescription drugs. My blood pressure is back to normal and my acid reflux is gone. CAMP has completely changed my life.”
